IN THE EXPLORATORIUM there is vertical pane of glass, on each side of which is a light that can be controlled to make it brighter or dimmer. By this means people sitting on either side can either look through and see only the other's face, or, by making their light brighter, only their own. If the lights are balanced just right, you can see your face superimposed on the face of the other person, so that you see your nose with their eyes, their mouth on your face. You become a composite. Two people blend into one with a jigsaw puzzle face. It is remarkable to see yourself with another's eyes.
