(#81) UNIVERSITY
OF CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF OPTOMETRY: |
They didn't like it. Some sort of political wrangle was going on and I got caught in the middle. The death of all society, of all organizations, of all enterprise, is the proliferation of bureaucracy. It destroyed the empires of the Babylonians and the Egyptians, it buried the Medes and Persians; it caused the downfall of Ancient Rome, and it's not doing the University of California much good, either. Anyhow, as soon as the committee heard that Bausch and Lomb was interested, their own enthusiasm revived, and since the poster was such a smashing success, if I do say so myself, all is now water under the bridge. The idea came from wondering how my infant nieces could possibly be tested for vision problems, and it actually worked quite well, except for the bottom line which they read, "Bug, bug, bug, bug, bug, bug, bug," and laughed. Do you get the joke about the "Big E" at the top? |
